Michael Jay Rune,
II was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. He received
his Bachelor of Arts cum laude from the University of
Texas in 1991 and his Juris Doctorate from the Cumberland
School of Law at Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama
in 1995. Michael was a recipient of the Cumberland
Presidential Scholarship and a member of the school's
ATLA National Trial Team. During his tenure at Cumberland,
he served as an Associate Editor of the Cumberland Law
Review.
Michael joined the firm after leaving the maritime and
international practice area in 1997. He is a member
of the Florida Bar, Texas Bar and an active participant
in the local Dade County Bar Association. Michael
is also a member of the Bankruptcy Bar Association for
the Southern District of Florida. His practice emphasizes
commercial and construction litigation, including bankruptcy,
as well as, surety and fidelity litigation and insurance
law.
He is a frequent contributor to International Association
of Defense Counsel's "Annual Survey of Fidelity and
Surety Law" and co-author of "Liability of Performance
Bond Surety" in The Law of Performance Bonds
(ABA 1999). |
