Dan
Guernsey was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
He graduated from the University of Iowa College of Law
in 1959 and his early career experience included 10 years
as claims representative and assistant claim manager for
a major insurance company with an emphasis on surety and
fidelity claims. Dan joined the firm in 1972 and his practice
includes products liability with a focus on asbestos personal
injury litigation. Additionally, he represents clients
in the area of building construction litigation, insurance,
and surety and fidelity law. Dan is a member of the Florida
Bar, Iowa Bar, the Fidelity and Surety Committee of the
Section of Tort and Insurance Practice and the American
Bar Association's Forum Committee on the Construction
Industry. He authored the chapter entitled "Rights
to Liabilities of the Surety" in the Florida Bar
publication Florida Construction Law and Practice, 2d.
Ed. Further, Dan frequently appears as a guest lecturer
in local and state seminars regarding legal issues in
the construction industry. He is currently of counsel.
