Marketing company files suit against South Florida muse

When a business, or a person running a business, in the Miami area is faced with some kind of business litigation he or she could have a lot of questions and concerns. Time is money for most businesses, which means a company or the people running it probably don’t have a lot of extra time to worry about lawsuits. However, any kind of lawsuit has to be taken serious.

A South Florida marketing company is suing a museum for breach of contract after it claims the museum failed to pay the total amount it was owed for consulting services performed earlier this year. According to the lawsuit the company, Markalyst LLC, claims that the museum agreed to pay $300,000 for the firm to develop and implement a marketing strategy.

According to the firm, the museum paid just over $65,000 initially, but when the firm completed its work, the museum allegedly said it would not be paying the rest of the bill. Markalyst is suing for breach of contract as well as unjust enrichment. It is seeking payment of the remaining $233,200 it is owed.

It will be up to a judge or jury to decide who is wrong and who is right in this situation. If the court rules in favor of the marketing company then the museum could be forced to pay restitution to cover the alleged damages. When a business dispute like this occurs it is often best for those involved to seek the experienced counsel of a business litigation attorney, who can help get the results a company or individual is seeking.
